Can this tool confirm live GST Active status?
No. It checks GSTIN format and ShiftCompare verified partner records. Live GST Active status should still be checked on the official GST taxpayer search portal before paying advance.
Verification tool, updated June 10, 2026
Use this free verification page to check a mover before booking. Enter a GSTIN or company name, review GSTIN format, match it against ShiftCompare verified quote partner records, then confirm Active GST status on the official GST portal. A missing ShiftCompare record is not a fraud label. It only means we have not verified that mover as a quote partner.
This is for the moment when a mover sounds good on call, but you still want proof before sending money. Check the GSTIN, company name, status label and written-quote risk in one place.

Free verification check
Enter a GSTIN or company name. We check GSTIN format and whether the mover is present in ShiftCompare's verified partner records.
This tool does not replace the official GST or MCA portal. It helps you catch format issues, name mismatch risk and ShiftCompare partner status before you continue.
There are two parts. First, the tool checks whether the GSTIN format looks correct. A GSTIN has 15 characters: state code, PAN, entity code, Z and a check digit. A wrong format may be a typo, but it can also be a fake number. Second, it checks whether the name or GSTIN is present in ShiftCompare's verified quote partner records.
That second result needs careful reading. If a mover appears as a verified quote partner, it means we have checked proof before treating them as a quote partner. If the mover does not appear, it does not mean the mover is fake. It simply means we do not show that business as verified by ShiftCompare right now.
Open the official GST taxpayer search and confirm the GSTIN is Active, the legal name matches, and the state makes sense. For a private limited or LLP name, check MCA master data too. Then ask for the written quote, inventory list, advance terms, GST invoice wording and damage process. A genuine mover should not get irritated by normal proof questions.
| Check | Where to check | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| GSTIN status | Official GST taxpayer search | Confirms Active status and legal name. |
| Company record | MCA master data when applicable | Useful for company and LLP names. |
| Office and phone | Call, website, map, address proof | Reduces fly-by-night risk. |
| Written quote | WhatsApp or email | Prevents quote changes after loading. |
A format-valid GSTIN is not a safety certificate. It only means the number structure is right. A verified ShiftCompare record is also not a promise that no delay or mistake can ever happen. It means the mover has passed our proof checks for quote partner use. Keep the tone practical: verify, compare, write the scope, then pay a limited advance.
Do not treat a not-found result as a fraud verdict. Many small packers movers are genuine but not part of our verified quote network yet. The safer reading is: ShiftCompare has not checked this mover enough to label them as a verified quote partner. You should now rely on official GST status, MCA where applicable, office proof, reviews and the written quote.
If the mover handles your route well and shares clean documents, you can still consider them. If they avoid every proof question, demand a large advance and keep the quote verbal, walk away. The result is a filter, not a court order.
GST helps you check tax registration and legal name. MCA helps when the mover claims to be a private limited company or LLP. A proprietorship may not appear in MCA, and that alone is not a problem. Match the check to the business type. A company should be able to show company proof. A small operator should still show identity, office or service address, phone, vehicle and written scope.
Price comparison is useful only after basic proof is done. A Rs 4,000 saving does not help if the mover cannot write the inventory, refuses GST clarity, asks for personal UPI and changes the amount after loading. First verify the mover, then compare the quote. The right order saves stress.
When three movers quote you, mark each one as checked, unclear or rejected. Checked means GST or business proof is understandable, the quote is written and the payment path is traceable. Unclear means you need one more answer. Rejected means the mover avoids proof or creates pressure.
If your employer reimburses relocation, check the mover before booking and ask for the bill format upfront. You may need GST invoice, bilty or LR, money receipt and inventory. Use packers movers bill for claim before the move and bill verification before submitting documents.
Sometimes the GST search page is slow, times out or asks you to retry. Do not use that moment as an excuse to skip the check. Save the GSTIN, legal name shared by the mover and quote screenshot, then retry later from a desktop browser. If the move is urgent, ask the mover to share their GST certificate or recent invoice copy while you wait.
Still, the final official status should come from the GST portal, not only from a PDF shared on WhatsApp. A document can be old. The portal tells you whether the registration is Active at the time of checking. For company names, you can also check MCA master data where the business type fits.
A clean verification result is the start, not the finish. Now compare the quote line by line. Confirm packing material, labour, truck size, GST, insurance, dismantling, waiting and balance payment terms. If the mover passes proof checks but gives a vague quote, ask for a corrected written scope before paying advance.
Keep the GST screenshot, company name, quote, inventory, payment proof and mover profile link together. If there is a later bill dispute, these small records help you show what was promised before loading. Do not depend only on call memory.
If the mover is verified by ShiftCompare, keep that profile link too. If the mover is outside our network, keep the official GST or MCA proof. Either way, the goal is the same: a traceable company, a written scope and a quote that does not change without reason.

No. It checks GSTIN format and ShiftCompare verified partner records. Live GST Active status should still be checked on the official GST taxpayer search portal before paying advance.
It means the mover is not currently listed as a ShiftCompare verified quote partner. It does not mean fraud. You should continue with GST, MCA, office, review and written quote checks.
Yes. A referral is useful, but you should still check the company name, GSTIN if GST is charged, office, written quote, advance terms, inventory and reviews.
A very low quote with full advance pressure, no written inventory, personal UPI only and refusal to share GST or business name is a strong warning sign.
No. GST is one proof point. A real booking also needs written scope, payment trail, service capability, reviews and a clear damage or missing-item process.
Some small operators may fall below the applicable GST threshold. If they do not charge GST, ask for business name, ID, phone, vehicle number, office proof and a written scope before booking.
