Pick Your Shifting Date: Price, Demand and Muhurat in One Calendar

Pick a month and see shifting dates scored by demand, weekend pressure, month-end pressure, monsoon risk and working muhurat shortlists. The planner gives three practical date picks without asking for your phone number.

Use the planner for quick date comparison. For the full month-wise list, open the annual house shifting muhurat 2026 guide.

Date planner

Pick a month. The tool scores dates by demand, month-end pressure, weekend pressure, monsoon risk and working muhurat shortlists.

8Cheap

Mid-week and early month. Good quote-comparison day.

11Premium

Saturday. Demand rises, especially in Gurgaon high-rises.

16Shubh

Working muhurat shortlist. Add rain packing before booking.

22Cheap

Mid-month weekday. Best if rain route is clear.

31Avoid

Month-end plus monsoon risk. Keep buffer for delays.

Best 3 picks this month

2026-07-08: Mid-week and early month. Good quote-comparison day.

2026-07-16: Working muhurat shortlist. Add rain packing before booking.

2026-07-22: Mid-month weekday. Best if rain route is clear.

How the flags are computed

Green means cheaper and easier to book. Amber means premium demand. Gold means a working shubh shortlist that still needs panchang confirmation. Red means avoid if you have flexibility because demand, month-end pressure or weather can make the move harder.

The planner uses the same practical signals as our timing guides: weekday pressure, last-week rush, monsoon handling, society permission and known demand behaviour from ShiftCompare quote reviews.

FlagWhat it meansWhat to ask the mover
CheapUsually a calmer date for price and crew availability.Ask for the same quote on one backup date.
PremiumWeekend, festival or handover demand may reduce discounts.Ask if crew and truck are already assigned.
ShubhWorking auspicious shortlist, not final priest approval.Ask whether the slot can match puja timing.
AvoidMonth-end, rain or timing pressure can create delays.Ask for waiting charges and a second date option.

Why the planner does not replace a priest

Panchang depends on city, sunrise, tithi, nakshatra and family custom. We are not trying to become an astrology site. We are adding the layer that moving sites usually miss: which shubh-looking date will actually be painful to execute.

Use it before calling movers

Shortlist two dates, then ask movers for both quotes with the same inventory. Also compare the estimate in the moving calculator. If a Wednesday saves money but your society only allows Saturday loading, the written quote should reflect that.

Date factors that change quotes

Movers do not price a calendar day emotionally. They price demand, crew availability, truck availability and time risk. Last Saturday of the month can be harder than a random Tuesday because too many tenants, owners and offices push into the same window.

Weather adds another factor. July, August and September can be cheaper, but rain protection must be inside the quote. If a low price excludes closed truck, stretch wrap and waiting rules, the saving is fake comfort.

Checklist before you lock the date

  • Confirm society lift timing for pickup and drop.
  • Ask the mover for crew count and vehicle size in writing.
  • Compare one weekday quote with your preferred date.
  • Check whether GST, insurance, storage or waiting is extra.
  • For shubh dates, separate puja entry from goods movement if timing is tight.

Example: how one date changes the plan

Suppose you are shifting a 2 BHK from Sector 48 to Sector 57. A Wednesday mid-month move may need a 14 ft truck, four helpers and one clean lift slot. The same job on a month-end Saturday may need earlier booking, stricter arrival window and a backup helper because every delay stacks up.

That is why the planner gives date labels but still points you to written quotes. Calendar colour is the start. The quote is the proof.

When to ignore the cheapest date

Ignore the cheapest date if your lease handover, child schedule, office leave or puja timing becomes messy. A move that saves Rs 2,000 but forces panic is not clever. Use the planner to see trade-offs, then choose the date that gives control.

How to compare date quotes

Ask the mover to quote the same inventory on two dates: your preferred date and one calmer weekday. Keep the BHK, floor, lift, packing level, origin and destination exactly the same. If the price difference is small, choose convenience. If the difference is large, ask what changes: crew, truck, timing, discount or waiting risk.

This is where many people make the mistake. They compare one mover for Saturday with another mover for Wednesday and think the mover is expensive. That is not a clean comparison. Same mover, same scope, two dates. Then you know what the date is doing to the quote.

Society timing can beat the calendar

A green date is useless if the service lift is blocked, truck entry is not allowed, or the RWA needs two days of approval. Gurgaon, Noida and Delhi societies can behave very differently. Some allow Sunday loading, some stop it. Some allow basement loading, some force long trolley movement from the gate.

Before you pay advance, call the facility office and ask for the allowed shifting window, truck gate, lift padding, deposit, waste rule and ID requirement. Then send those details to the mover. A good date plus bad access is still a bad move.

Monsoon and festival adjustments

In July, August and September, a cheap date still needs rain packing. In October and November, a good-weather date can collide with festival leave, market closures or family travel. In December and January, local movement can be fine, but intercity delivery may need fog buffer.

The planner keeps these as simple flags because the final decision has to fit your family. If you are moving a few items across the same sector, you can take more date risk. If you are moving a 4 BHK, car, bike and puja schedule together, give yourself more buffer.

Verification still matters

A good date does not verify the mover. Before paying, use verify packers movers, ask for GST details if GST is charged, and insist on a written quote. Date planning reduces pressure. Verification reduces fraud risk. You need both.

How families actually use the planner

Most families do not get unlimited choice. One person has office leave, one child has school, one landlord wants handover, and one priest gives a narrow puja window. Use the planner to find the least painful overlap, not the perfect calendar date. Perfect dates are rare in real shifting.

If two dates look close, choose the one where pickup and drop society permissions are easiest. A date with clean lift timing, truck entry and family availability is usually better than a date that is theoretically cheaper but creates four phone calls and three permissions.

What to save before booking

Save the selected date, backup date, mover quote, society approval, payment proof and GST or bill details in one WhatsApp note or email thread. On moving day, nobody wants to search ten chats for the lift slot screenshot. Tiny discipline, big relief.

Best use case

The planner is most useful before you call movers, not after. Once a sales team knows your date is fixed, negotiation gets weaker. Pick two workable dates first, then ask for written quotes. You will sound prepared, and prepared customers usually get clearer answers.

FAQs

Does this tool give final muhurat?

No. It gives a logistics shortlist with a muhurat overlay. Confirm the final city-specific panchang with your priest.

Why are some Saturdays marked premium?

Saturday demand is usually higher because families want Sunday for unpacking. Month-end Saturdays are the hardest to book cleanly.

Why are some dates marked avoid?

Avoid means moving demand, month-end pressure, rain risk or society timing can create trouble. It is not a religious judgment.

Can I use this for Delhi, Gurgaon and Noida?

Yes, as a planning layer. Final quote still depends on access, BHK size, packing and route.
