A real Delhi 3 BHK quote walkthrough
Take a 3 BHK on the first floor of a South Delhi builder house, with three beds, two wardrobes, a sofa set, a dining table, a showcase, a fridge, a washing machine, a TV and around 55 cartons including a heavy kitchen and books. The colony lane takes a 14 ft tempo but not a 17 ft truck, and there is no lift. A fair quote here usually lands around Rs 26,000 to Rs 34,000 once crate packing and stair carry are written in.
The biggest line is labour. A heavy 3 BHK carried down a single flight by hand still needs a five or six person crew for a clean morning, and the wardrobes and bed frames need dismantling. A mover who quoted it as a lift building will revise upward on arrival, so put the floor and the staircase width in the brief and ask whether dismantling and reassembly are inside the quote.
The second factor is fragile packing. A 3 BHK usually carries a glass-top dining table, a showcase, mirrors and framed art, and these need crate or hardboard cover, not just a bubble wrap. Ask for that as a separate written line with a declared value, and keep documents, jewellery and laptops with you rather than in the truck.
